brother MFC-9320CWexcellent printer and fax machine with reliable software. I replaced an HP color laser withthismachine. The HP came nowhere near in performance
Terriffic Printer / All-in-OneWorks great. Does everything I want it to. Very nice print quality. Good scanning. Software is easy to use, once you manage to get it installed. The network configuration is not simple, and the software suite is bloated and complicated to install, but once you get everything set up, it all works very well.
Manual feed ok once you figure it outThis is not a full review of the product--many other have done that very eloquently. I just wanted to add a point on the manual feed. First--it's unnecessarily difficult to use and not at all designed for high-volume operations. But the manual feed does work ok if you follow the instructions.
1. Open the back pass through cover so the paper feeds straight though. (a pain I know)
2.) There are two gray levers on either side of the cover for envelopes and are marked as such. Flip these down until they click. You may have to use a little pressure and they are rather flimsy. These instructions are in the users guide.
2.) Feed the envelope into the manual slot with a little pressure until you feel the paper feed roller "grab" it and roll it in another 1/4".
Now you're ready. Print as usual. I was able to print 24# cotton envelopes without jams or curling. They look great.
Hopefully this will work for you.
This printer is incapable of printing envelopesI have owned this printer for less than a week and as other reviewers have stated, it is incapable of printing an envelope. The manual feed doesn't work - and I thought maybe it was perhaps I had inexpensive envelopes, so I put two together to add thickness, and it didn't work. I get a "Jam Inside" message and have to open the cover and start over - this will occur at least a dozen times before I luck out, and the envelope feeds correctly.
I called customer service, and received irrelevant instructions on fixing an unrelated problem.
In addition, even when you can get it to work, you have to open the back, put down two levers, and then the envelopes fall to the floor behind the printer.
If you don't have to print envelopes, this printer may work for you - unfortunately, this is a task I do too frequently to put up with this.
Brother MFC-9320CWThis is a great product for the price. I have a medium size construction company that uses MAC's and PC, everything hooked up and is running wireless fairly easily. Being able to scan to multiple computers is great. Print quality is excellent and quicker then the inkjet's. After a month, I'm very happy with this multi function printer.
Great ProductThis is a great printer. Great quality and speed. Easy to set up and use. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a photo setting. If you want to print a lot of photos this isn't the printer for you.
PrinterWe have had several printers over the past year. We decided to go laser for speed. All of our other printers have had trouble with the paper feeders and I think that is because my kids would pull the paper out as it was printing. This printer prints fast and hopefully we will not have too hard of a problem. I have used the scanner with ease! The copier is easy as well. I did have a little issue with the manual feed tray when printing color prictures on card stalk. When changed to regular paper everything worked fine. Very happy with the purchase so far!
Very Expensive in the Long RunWe have had a lot of printers over the years for our business and I have to say this one is costing us a lot more to run. We replace the toner cartridges every month and that's x4. The quality of the printer is ok but the toner cartridges are ridiculously inefficient. A waste of time and money to keep on replacing not to mention how environmentally unfriendly this is even though we do try to recycle them. We also have a HP Laser Jet that is much better for print quality and the toner cartridges last much longer.
Update: The printer's drum finally died and so after not even 2 years this will go the the recycle center. Good riddance. We are now trying to get by with a Canon Pixma Inkjet and an OLD HP Laser Printer 1300 b&w until I can find (and afford) a good color laser. I am looking into adding an external ink tank to the Canon MX882 Inkjet. The HP Laserjet 1300 is a workhorse. Nothing fancy but good if you do a lot of black and white printing. I loved this printer so much, I bought another one refurbished for our office. The ink cartridges last longer and so does the printer. Too bad they don't make them like this any longer.
great machine!Had this for about a month, and really like it. Haven't printed any photos yet, but document print quality is excellent. Very easy to set up and use. Quiet; we have it in a spare room and can't even hear it. Our last color laser printer was so noisy you could hear it all over the house. Recommended!
Not as good as it could be.I purchased this machine for business use with IMAC machines on a small network. This machine had the majority of the features I was trying to get in one machine and was user friendly to the IMAC (not all printer/scanners are), color laser, ADF, wireless access, legal size paper printing. This machine falls short on the "ease of use" aspect. It is not easy to get around the menu items for quick changes i.e. change paper size. The menu selections are not intuitive and very rarely make sense. I have used many All-in-One machines and find this one to be the most difficult to navigate. I have to get the book out every time. Even setting the PDF default (when using the scan to USB mode) is a bit of a pain. Don't get me started on changing the paper tray to accept legal sized paper. I don't know what they were thinking when they set this up. You have to scroll through several screens to get to the screen for the change from letter to legal. It is an act of Congress to change the tray to legal paper. The machine makes a very loud clicking noise sometimes after this change and has to be turned off and restarted. I have purchased/used Brother equipment before and have found they are not "long lasting". I purchased an extended replacement warranty for this reason. Also they did not think through printing on envelopes. What a circus that is. You have to pull the machine out to get access to the rear and make several changes there and hope the envelope does not jam (one at a time, it is not capable of handling a stack). This machine jams every single time I run a #10 envelope. Another annoyance is it drops from the network several times a day. It has to be shutdown to get it back on the network. None of the other machines in our office have this issue. The actual print quality is good and the ADF works well and is very fast. So if you purchase this machine keep in mind it may not be around in a year or two and get a replacement warranty if it is available. Also the original cartridges that come with it are "starter" cartridges and they will not give the same yield as the replacement ones you will purchase. As with any piece of technology, buyer beware and do your homework. For the price this machine will do. If they could work our the kinks with the quality of the machine and the legal paper/envelope handling they might have a winner on their hands.
