HP Laserjet M1522nf
Laserjet M1522nf Toner Cartridges

satisfied new ownerThis machine fulfills the needs for which we purchased it, and so far we are happy with the performance.
A Top Rated Printer for it's Price RangeI have used this HP Laser-jet with a Mac, and I am very pleased with it's ease of use, print quality, and print speed. The setup is a no brainer while the overall design of the printer is exceptional.
HP software - consistently badI've purchased at least 8 HP printers over the past 15 years. HP software becomes worse with each newer generation. This multifunction printer keeps on disconnecting itself from the computer (Windows XP Pro). It is not listed on HP live help. And it does not work with Windows Server operating systems, which is important to me as I sometimes will print at home documents from my office's server using Remote Desktop. Was it too much trouble for HP to write a driver? My Laserjet 4L puts this machine to shame. HP used to be a good company that built solid products, but it seems to be going the way of General Motors. I bought a Brother multifunction for my office because it actually will work with Windows Server OS. My next photo printer will probably be a Canon instead of an HP because of this machine. There simply is no excuse for poorly written software, and I refuse to patronize any company that produces a product that is not ready for prime time.
Piece of TrashThis is the worst all-in-one printer known to man kind. We purchased this unit in July, 2009. We use it for business purposes, open twice a week. This unit has already broken down twice in the first three months and HP has given us replacements twice and it's not even new; they are refurbished machines. The latest HP refurbished unit, can't even turn the power on, continually shows errors, and does not scan. Our technical team has noticed that HP has decreased in their quality significantly over the past few years. Avoid this company as they are making all their stuff overseas now, they are overpriced, and their customer service can't solve any problems.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER!!!I have always had good luck with HP computers and printers. In the business I work for we have 6 HP computers and 2 color laser printers, and this piece of garbage fax/scanner/coppier. After my experience with the 1522nf I will NEVER buy another HP printer. It worked for a few months, but all of the sudden it quit responding to ANYTHING, including pressing the buttons on the printer. It would freeze and restart itself, then freeze again. After spending an hour on the phone with HP's customer support playing their games, they decided to send me a replacement, refurbished printer. After two days the refurbished printer started doing the same thing. So I called HP again, and explained that our business depends on a reliable fax machine. At this point, I would rather pay extra money to upgrade to a different model, but after going back and forth for some time they explained that I must try THREE different replacements before we could negotiate an exchange for a different model. So I now have the THIRD HP 1522nf running for day now, and I am preparing to call them again tomorrow after this one freezes like the other two have. These last two never even got connected to a computer or a network. They were simply plugged into the wall and sat there. They freeze all by themselves. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRINTER!!!
HP still has no Windows 7 x64 driver for this DeviceI have several computers attached to my home network: A mac, a Vista x32, and a Vista x64. Originally, the printer worked on all three. A few weeks into ownership, I began experiencing problems with the vista x64 os system. I logged to much time with INDIA and after sending out repairmen 2x, finally got the printer working....and fairly nicely. However, I recently upgraded the vista x64 os to Windows 7 x64. I'm now aware that HP doesn't have a driver for the Win 7 x64, BUT HP IS PROMISING IT SOON (AS OF 11/2009)!!!! I'm having to use another printer right now for my Windows 7 x64 PC. But if you have a 32 bit os system, the drivers should work fine. The scanning software included works well, if the driver works. But again....
When my x64 PC drivers were working, I loved it. I hope HP pulls its head out of the ground and re-asserts itself as the company it once was...this product needs better drivers. Also I'm tried of speaking to people in INDIA when I have a problem.
Everything I expectedNot sure why so many people have had issues with this machine, but I have had none. Our office has 2 of these machines, and both of us use our machines extensively. I literally print 1000's of pages a month and use the scanner all the time. Now I do not use it for faxing, but my other machine is used for faxing all the time and it has no problem at all. The machine is a workhorse in my opinion. I use the top document feeder to do all my scanning and it works great. I use it for copying as well and it also works great.
They have worked so well that I am probably going to buy 3 more for my office. Like anything else that gets a review, some are good and others are not. Like I said earlier, not sure why others have had so many issues.
junk - do not buyWhen it works it works great, but god help you if there is a problem. contacting HP support is worthless unless you want to throw good money after bad.
Lemon PrinterThe printer lasted ONE week before it experienced a fatal error. Amazon would not accept my request to return the product. HP said they would send me a refurbished machine upon receipt of the defective one. Amazon did not stand behind the product nor did they honor their return policy. I guess I should pay more attention to "buyer beware". I will never buy anything larger than coffee and print cartridges from Amazon again.
Do not purchase this malfunctioning piece of garbageWe have had this in use only about 3 months and it does nothing but malfunction. Can't fax due to "low memory." Wouldn't receive faxes for a while, setting ITSELF on "manual." The menu for straightening that problem out is much less than intuitive. We had to call HP to figure out what some of the settings were. They were helpful, but wanted then to sell us an additional service contract. The cartridges for this machine are very expensive and print too few copies. Reducing print quality helps, but then ... you have reduced print quality. Last HP item I'll be purchasing.
