HP Laserjet P2035n
Laserjet P2035n Toner Cartridges

Great PrinterI did alot of research for printers for my small home office needs. This printer fit the bill. It is easy to set up, easy and fast to print. I made sure that this printer had the network capability and it was very easy to plug it into my wireless router and now any computer that is hooked up to my wireless network can print from this printer. I love how fast this prints too. Basically after I hit the print button, I turn around and the document is waiting for me!
Great print type but WAY TOO EXPENSIVE on TonerThis machine prints very nice, sharp documents. But I have been very, very disappointed in the toner issue. It only gives you less than 2,000 pages per toner cartridge at $85 per cartridge. We are going through cartridges about one every 4-5 weeks - WAY TOO EXPENSIVE using up that much toner. We will be moving this to a lower use office; I am very disappointed in this and didn't see it mentioned too prominently in other reviews so BEWARE!
returned first daynot designed for network setup (required USB cable); had to download Windows 7-64 drivers from HP web site; after slow setup, printed either two copies of everything (default was NOT set to multiple copies) or infinite copies; after an hour of trying to debug, returned product to store, will replace w/ HP d2055dn, had installed 2 p2055dn printers earlier in week without any issues
HP 2035N PrinterThe product is great. Just as advertised. I use the product at work. I the print quality is excellent. Highly recommend purchasing from this vendor..
So Far So GoodThis printer has performed as advertised, I had been using Brother 5250dn but after buying two that wore out within a year I decided to try a different brand. I haven't had this printer long but I have already printed over 25,000 copies with no problem at all(other than changing out a few toner cartridges, why do they not make a high yield cartridge for this is beyond me). The print quality is twice that of the brother I used. Printer also hooked right up to all four of my computers via the network and linked right up no problem at all. I completely reccommend this product.
Printer Cartridges Only Last One Month and Are ExpensiveI have used various HP printers in my law office for over twenty years, and until now I was always satisfied. I bought this P2035N on 8/9/2010 because of its speed, and it is quick.
The major (and unforgivable) drawback is the cost and lifespan of the consumable ink cartridge (the P2035N only uses the HP 05A cartridge, and NOT the HP 05X high capacity cartridge). The HP 05A cartridge costs about $90, and is rated at 2,300 pages (about 4 cents per page). The first new cartridge lasted thirty days. The second one only lasted twenty days. The HP 05X (high capacity) cartridge costs about $165 and is rated at 6,500 pages (2.5 cents per page); however, the P2035N printer cannot use the 05X cartridge.
By comparison, my former HP P2015d printer could use the HP 53X (extended use) cartridge (costs $165, rated at 7,000 pages), which means that it costs about 2.4 cents per page, and it would last me about 3 months. Even the HP 53A cartridge (costs $90, rated at 3,000 pages) costs about 3 cents per page.
Based on the above experience, here is my bottom line: Don't buy this printer. To print 2,300 pages per month costs about $90 on the P2035n, but would only cost about $57 if it could use the high capacity 05X cartridge. That means it costs me almost $400 more per year (which is $100 more than I paid for the printer itself). I've thought about just buying the HP 2055n, because it's just as fast and it can use the 05X cartridge; but I hear reports that the P2055n is horribly slow at printing PDF documents (and I now scan all of my files into PDF formats).
The HP 05X will not work in this printer? HP Laserjet P2035n Am i doing something wrong?
Solid, reliable, compatible printerI bought this printer to replace a Canon multi-function laser, mostly for my wife. So far, it has proven to be a reliable workhorse. While the Canon would require a reset (power cycle) on every 3rd or 4th print job, this HP has never yet needed a reset. The same types of print jobs were being handled by each printer - MS Office docs, PDF files, and Web pages, for the most part, along with occasional check from QuickBooks. The Canon would have a problem anytime the print area of a doc exceeded the printer's capabilities (e.g., less than 1/2 inch margins). The HP takes those kinds of challenges in stride. No one makes better Windows print drivers than HP. Since the Canon was connected to our wireless network through a print server, troubleshooting was always complicated. With the HP connected directly to the wired network, not only does it start printing faster, but it has yet to lose a print job. As the lead tech support specialist for my house, I truly appreciate how resilient this printer is in dealing with whatever is sent to it, as well as how reliably it prints. It has made my life quite a bit simpler. My wife has come to me and said, "Have I told you how much I love this printer?" Setup was a breeze and was completed in 10 minutes on multiple computers. I've found (and ordered on Amazon) replacement knock-off cartridges for about $25, so consumable costs are low. As has been noted in other reviews, the printer is loud when operating (especially the first page - which prints incredibly fast), but goes back to sleep in 30 seconds or so. I've solved the noise problem by locating the printer in a credenza with doors. The sleep feature is great, since it feels like it uses less power than the Canon. If you are looking for a super-compatible, networked laser printer, you can't go wrong with the P2035N.
Great printerThis printer is used in our home and gets plenty of use from two working adults and a teenager. It starts printing immediately on the first page and is as quick as nearly every other printer I use at work. It appears to be well-built (it replaced a cheaply-built Brother laser that stopped working after less than a year). It is much quieter than our previous printer, and goes into sleep mode (silence) very quickly after printing. All in all, a good purchase so far.
Good printer thus far.Solid, dependable printer thus far :) No qualms about performance speed or print quality. Yield from even the starter cartridge seems to be good.
