Incredibly easy wireless setup! We had a full featured, wireless HP all in one inkjet printer before we bought this Kodak. The setup for the HP was extremely difficult and fraught with problems. After getting it installed, the wireless link kept going bad so we finally gave up and ran a printer cable across the floor. After about a year of constantly dealing with rampant software glitches and finally printer-head problems we just gave up.
We replaced it with The Kodak Aio ESP 9. I was amazed at the completely effortless and flawless wireless connection and software installation. We opened the box and within a 45 minutes had four PCs printing to it wirelessly. Printing may be a tad slow but the smooth user interface more than makes up for it. The thing that got us interested in this in the first place was the low cost of replacement ink. We are very happy with this purchase and would recommend this machine to anyone. After what we had been through with our last one, this is a breath of fresh air.
Noisy and slowI bought the ESP 9 because of all the hype about using less ink, took my HP 3310 out and installed the Kodak, the first thing I noticed was how noisy it was when printing but the thing that made me re-install the HP was when I clicked on "Print" it would just sit there for what seemed like forever but I'm guessing up to 15 seconds before it would fire up and start to print, My HP starts as soon as you click "Print" So between the noise and the slowness I love my HP no matter what the ink cost.
Color printing a HUGE disappointmentI could not be more disappointed with the color printing in a printer. I purchased this unit because it was an all in one printer and the cartridge prices were too good to be true. And it was. The printing of pictures shows lines and faded color no matter what we do with it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRINTER. Now I guess I have to figure out with Kodak if there is anything that can be done about it or if I'm just stuck with a bad printer
Great Quality, Easy setup, save on cartridge refills costNice quality printer, paper and cartridges easy to load. No issues yet. It was very easy to setup. This will really help to save on printer cartridge cost.
Kodak ESP9 reviewWe do love our new printer 4 in 1. My wife can now fax, print, scan and copy from one machine. It is a little noise when it is warming up but after that it runs great. It has the cheaper ink that Kodak sells and works well on printed items as well as photo reprints. I had one of the first ones at work that we have really used a lot and Kodak has been great at helping us when we have worn things out.(we have had the one at work for almost 3 years now)
It's amazing what an inkjet printer can do nowThis does everything that I want. No problems yet. Great quality of prints. No complaints
Very easy to network.Received the printer - was kind of hesitant to hook it up at first because I have had issues with networking and connecting stuff to the network in the past.
This time it was great! All I had to do was enter the key (password)for our wifi and ta da! Then I had to install the drivers on our other computers We have 3 laptops and 2 desktops - the installation of this printer eliminated the need for 1 of our desktops becuase we can now print straight from our laptops.
Only thing I did not like is it is noisy - but I can put up with that.
I really got an excellent deal!!!!!I had been searching for a new printer and specifically a Kodak all-in-one because of the cost of ink cartridges. I came across this excellent deal for this printer at half price. I have not seen it at that price since and I feel very fortunate to have found this. It has been a very good printer and I have not used all of the features yet but have been extremely pleased so far. Thanks.....
Has potential, but fails to deliver.I bought this printer in December 2008 for Christmas. I did a lot of research, and I found it to be the best choice for me. It has great features: Auto-Duplexer, Auto Document Feeder, Inexpensive ink, great photo quality, nice big LCD, Wireless/Ethernet, Fax (useless for me, I do't have a landline), Memory card reader, etc.
Well my experience wasn't to great. The printhead was defective out of the box, I went through online tech support with Kodak and they sent me a new printhead. I got it the next day, it also included ink and paper. Great, I just brushed it off because sometimes defects happen.
Four months later, the printhead goes out again. I order another one, this time no ink (lame). I installed the printhead, and things were great.
I loved the print quality of every document and photo. Except that the reds on plain paper were kind of washed out. I exhausted my old paper supply and went out to buy Kodak Ultimate Paper. It was 50% off at Best Buy at the time so I bought 5 Reams. Print quality on that paper is awesome, it's brighter and thicker than normal copy paper.
Now it's December 2009, I still have a few weeks on the Manufacturer warranty. The printhead goes out AGAIN! I ordered a new one. Except this time I' returning the printer to the store (I bought it at Sam's Club, as long as you have a receipt you can return it).
When it works it's really good printer, but I'm disappointed that it has the printhead problem. Maybe I should of returned the printer to the store earlier, but it wasn't in stock for a while after Christmas. You might get lucky and not get a defective printer, it's a good printer with great features.
Great printerPurchased the unit for the cost of the toner, multi-page feeder, and wireless capability. Great printer, no complaints. Slightly loud, but can live with it. Would definitely recommend - great printer for the price.
