HP 564XL Magenta, Ink Cartridge ^{High Yield}

The HP 564 and 564XL I purchased to replace the original cartridges that came with my printer must be defective, expecially the BLACK ink cartridge. After spending over 2 hrs with tech support, they wanted to replace my printer. Trouble is they wanted my credit card number so they could charge me $1.00. I do not feel comfortable giving my cr card number to someone in India. HP should trust that their customers are honest if they spend 2 hrs doing the same things they had tried before they called! Most of us know what we are doing and what is and what isn`t logical when a problem occurs. HIghly disappointed as the printer was working fine before the original cartridge ran out of ink (black). I do not do much color printing and have never used it to print and actual photo on photo paper. So I don`t know how that would work. Not sure what I am going to do.

I am having trouble with the new 564 and 564xl black cartridges. My original one went "dry" so I replaced it and I cannot get anything to print in black. Has anyone else had this problem? My HP printer was new in Dec. 2011, purchased from Walmart. The replacement cartridge I bought also came from Walmart. I had called HP tech support and they sent all 4 cartridges to me, but I only needed the black so I installed that, and you got it, it still doesn`t work. They said they would replace my printer after I let them charge me $1.00 on my credit card. I guess they don`t trust their customers. I will not give my credit card info to anyone over in India. I still think it is the black cartridge rather than a defective printer, but who knows? Anyone else had this kind of thing happen? I have the HP Photosmart 5512.

Deceptive practices

This product indicated that it was sold in the retail packaging, including a picture of same. When I received the item it was enclosed in bubble wrap, not retail packaging, along with a note that this was a new ink cartridge and genuine HP product. Very pleased with Amazon price and shipping however this printer eats ink like none I've ever owned!!! If you made a mistake and bought a printer that uses this cartridge you might better buy 2!

564XL, Now with less ink...

This is total crap. HP has released this new version of the 564XL black ink cartridge that is smaller than the old one and has less ink in it. They advertise that it is a "New smaller size with a lower price!", and while that may be true I doubt that anyone buying the XL version wants that. If I wanted a smaller sized ink cartridge for less money, I would buy the standard 564 ink cartridge instead. I buy the XL because I don't want to change my cartridges every other month.

On top of that, the price difference between the two versions is misleading. The original one (CB321WN) can still be found on Amazon for $36. The new small version (CN684WN) costs $23. New lower price, right? Not as good as it may seem. I used to be able to get the CB321WN version for $29! So they jacked up the price of the remaining stock of the old one so the new one would look like a better deal.

The next time I have to replace my ink, I will be considering a different brand of printer (since the cost of replacing ink is almost as much as the cost of a new printer).

Was NOT in retail packaging and did NOT work

Not sure what I was sent, but this cartridge was NOT in the retail packaging (it was in a bubble-wrap bag), and when I put it into my computer, it did not work. What a waste of time and money.

Like the smaller size cartridge

Smaller cartridge is much better. The ink lasts as long as the larger cartridge & is much better than the standard cartridge.

Not in retail packaging

Cartridge not in retail package, it was only in the plastic wrap. When I finally tried to use first cartridge, there was ink on outside and cartridge wouldn't click in place. Finally after about 15 attempts I got it to click in. Printer is almost new and this is first replacement cartridge. Wouldn't ever buy from GO-DPS again.

Deceptive Picture

The picture for this showed 4 retail boxed ink cartriges; what you get is 4 unboxed ink cartriges shrink-wrapped together. This is a very deceptive practice and I am very unhappy. I haved tried the ink yet, but the deceptive add doesn't bode well. I hope these aren't re-filled cartriges!
